My name is Dana Washington-Queen (she/they). I'm an artist researcher living and working in Oakland, California.
I engage black studies and ethnography from a feminist perspective to deepen my understanding of how family and kinship systems shape political, social, and sexual consciousness and the ways minoritized groups make meaning under changing political environments.
I have earned professional licensure as a barber, lectured and mentored students at the university level, published poems, essays and photographs, showcased video/films in festivals, and conceptualized installations in art galleries.
Currently, I'm producing a new body of multimedia work. My CV is available upon request.
